Yunominesou is a Japanese ryokan situated on a hillside above the pretty onsen village of Yunomine. The ryokan has 26 guestrooms, all with traditional tatami mat flooring, and futon beds laid out in the evening. There are two large shared onsen with indoor and outdoor pools and two private onsen for those who prefer some privacy. All are fed from the local hot-springs. Yunominesou has a restaurant serving a traditional kaiseki dinner, and a multi-course breakfast. Guestrooms have ensuite toilet facilities but bathing facilities are to be used at the shared or private onsen. Most rooms have small balconies with stunning views over the tranquil and lush mountainous countryside.

A wonderful base from which to explore Yunomine and the wider Kumano Kodo trails. The environment is tranquil, staff are very welcoming, and the kaiseki dinner is mouthwateringly delicious.
