When to visit - Pakistan
Best times to visit Pakistan
The best times to visit Pakistan are spring (March and April) and autumn (October and November). During these periods the temperature is pleasant in most of the country generally in the mid-teens going into the high 20s. These months offer the best conditions for a tour taking in the varied parts of the country.
Good times to visit Pakistan
Travelling just before or after spring and autumn are also good times to travel to Pakistan. May is a good month to consider, as conditions remain favourable, but the temperature starts picking up in the cities in central Pakistan, such as Islamabad and Lahore. Temperatures in the mountainous Gilgit-Baltistan region remain pleasant but there is risk of heavy local thunderstorms from mid-April. Travel is possible in the early winter, but temperatures plunge to below freezing with heavy snow fall in the higher areas.
Pakistan's Green Season
July to September is the monsoon season in Pakistan. Low lying areas experience high humidity and heavy, frequent rainfall. July and August are the wettest months of the year, which can bring local flooding. It remains possible to travel in the mountainous north as it escapes the worst effects of the monsoon and temperatures remain pleasant, averaging 10-24C at higher altitudes.
