Karkara Valley
Straddling the Kyrgyzstan – Kazakhstan border is the beautiful and serene Karkara Valley. Located to the east of Lake Issyk-Kul, the valley follows the edge of the Karkara River, which forms the natural border with Kazakhstan. This is a landscape of picturesque alpine meadows framed by sloping hills covered in verdant forest. There are limited accommodation options in the region, but during the summer months from May to October, it is possible for tourists to stay at our ‘glamping’ yurt camp, which offers luxurious en suite yurts right on the riverfront and is just a couple of hours drive from Karakol.
