See ancient petroglyphs

Located up in the hills above the beach town of Cholpon-Ata, is the fascinating open-air Petroglyph Museum. Petroglyphs can be found in many places in Kyrgyzstan, but this is one of the largest collections gathered in one place, with more than 1,000 stones. The oldest examples date back to the Bronze Age. Many of the stones are covered with carvings depicting scenes of everyday life, as well as images of wild and domesticated animals, and hunting scenes.
