See the Burana Tower

This UNESCO Heritage Site is all that remains of the ancient city of Balasagun, and today is one of Kyrgyzstan’s most important historical sites. It once stood at a height of 45m, but over the years it has been reduced by political upheaval and the natural elements, and today stands at 25m. Climbing to the top affords some fabulous views of the surrounding scenery, and there is also an interesting museum as well. Just as interesting as the tower, is the large collection of balbals, small stone statues likely used as gravestones.
