Visit the Tash Rabat Caravanserai

The Tash Rabat Caravanserai, located around a two-hour drive south of Naryn, is a small but very well-preserved stone caravanserai which occupies a stunning location perched on the hillside in the scenic Tash Rabat Valley. A caravanserai is an ancient inn, used by travellers and merchants along the ancient Silk Road. The Tash Rabat Caravanserai dates back to the 15th century, but it is said it was built on the site of an ancient monastery dating all the way back to the 10th century. Tash Rabat is located at an altitude of around 3,200m.

From June 1st to the end of September, there is accommodation available in a comfortable yurt camp located very close to the historic building. During your stay you can explore the structure of the Caravanserai itself, go hiking in the surrounding valley, or organise some horse-riding. Alternatively, it is possible to visit as a day trip from Naryn if you prefer not to stay overnight in a yurt.
